In March 2016, NSW began enforcing stricter regulations and laws around cyclists and motorists sharing the road. These laws have been implemented to further protect drivers and riders and to ensure that a level of accountability is achieved for both parties.
The law introduced a range of new expectations, from requiring all cyclists over the age of 18 to carry photo ID to enforcing a new set of fines for unlawful behaviour on the road. This is explained further in the infographic below.
